August 31, 2023- The Dalhart Police Department is kicking off their 2023 Blue Santa initiative by accepting donations to serve children within Dalhart ISD. Blue Santa is a community service initiative started by the Dalhart Police Department in 2022 with the goal of providing Christmas gifts to children and families in need. In its first year, the program served over 400 children and the Police Department wants to see that grow this year with a goal of serving over 900
children in the community.
Dalhart Police Department is accepting monetary donations, cash or check made out to “Dalhart Police Department,” as well as in-kind donations of hygiene products, socks, cozy blankets, toys, stuffed animals, and gift cards. All items must be new and in the original packaging. Please note the Police Department is not accepting any baby items.
“Last year, we had an amazing turnout in donations by the community and I know we can do it again. Our goal is bigger this year and we cannot reach it without help from the Dalhart community. Let’s give our children a Christmas to remember,” said Sergeant Erica Trevino of the Dalhart Police Department.
The Blue Santa donation drive will be accepting donations from now until December 1st. There is an Amazon Wishlist available (at
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/RZAU5WG69IEL...); however, local shopping is strongly encouraged. You can deliver your donations to the Dalhart Police Department at 202 Rock Island Avenue, Dalhart, Texas 79022. For more information, please contact Sergeant Erica Trevino at etrevino@dalharttx.gov, or by phone at 806-244-5546.
