THE CITY OF DALHART ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.
THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 7.96 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $31.70

Welcome to the City of Dalhart
The City of Dalhart, Texas, was incorporated in 1901. Dalhart lies within two counties, Dallam and Hartley Counties, and is the seat of Dallam County. Dalhart is strategically located in the center of a Tri-State area, 46 miles from eastern New Mexico and 56 miles from the northwest Oklahoma Panhandle.
The economy of Dalhart primarily consists of agriculture, including crop production, livestock feeding, dairy industry, and other supporting industries. Large employers include the Union Pacific Railroad, Texas Department of Correction, Dalhart Independent School District, Hilmar Cheese Company and the Coon Memorial Hospital.
The City provides a full range of municipal services, including Police and Fire Protection, Street and Sanitation Departments, Water and Sewer Services, Parks and Cemetery, Planning and Zoning Boards, Airport, and General Administrative Services.
